Causes of the war continued
The Chinese Civil war was started because of the Shanghai Massacre and the collapse of the First United Front in 1927.

The birth of the PRC
Chinese Communist leader Mao Zedong declared the creation of the People's Republic of China (PRC).
The announcement ended the costly full scale civil war between the Chinese Communist Party and the Nationalist Party, or Kuomintang which broke out immediately following World War II and had been preceded by on and off conflict between the two sides since the 1920s.
The Meeting
In 1945 the leaders of the Nationalist and Communist parties met to talk about a post war government. They both agreed on the importance of a democracy, a unified military, and equality for all Chinese political parties. And despite the treaty and the U.S.'s best efforts the two parties were still having an all out war.

Effects of the Chinese Civil War
Due to political weakness and foreign powers influence China's government was unable to protect its people and the humiliation from the war.

With the Japanese surrender in August 1945, most observers believed the CCP and Nationalists would revive their civil war. In late 1945 foreign intermediaries, particularly the Americans, tried to broker peace talks between the two groups. In late August 1945 Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai attended peace talks with Jiang Jieshi and other Nationalist leaders in Chongqing. Mao and Zhou attended at the urging of the Soviet Union and were accompanied by US diplomat Patrick Hurley.
