
HOW TO LEAD A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE
A very good morning to the Principal of SMK Jelotong, Madam Caroline Tan, teachers and fellow students. I am Farid bin Izwan from the school's Health Club. As students nowadays are occupied with numerous activities, many have forgotten to take care of themselves. Hence, i would like to share some tips on how to lead a healthy lifestyle.

First of all, personal hygiene is of utmost important. For example, wash your hands properly and frequently. Brush your teeth day and night. Change your dirty clothes and trim your nails regularly. Keeping yourself clean helps prevent the spreading of bacteria. Then, eat a balanced diet which consists of fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Snacks are to be taken in moderation and not cause excessive weight gain. Avoid soft drinks. Consume plenty of water instead.

Next, regular exercise is a major factor leading to a healthy lifestyle. It also helps increase self-esteem and improve general mental health. Most people can begin doing moderate exercise such as walking and jogging. allocate at least three times a week to exercise. This activity will keep you fit and enhance your body immune system.

You are encouraged to take up a hobby, it let you be creative and try new things. You should also get adequate sleep of eight hours a day. You will wake up recharged and refreshed the next morning. Lastly, we must learn to think positively. Steer clear from any negative influences. Look for a bright side in every situation. Share positively with others by flashing them brilliant smile.

These are a few tips on how to live a healthy lifestyle. As quoted by Dalai Lama, 'One must be compassionate to one's self before external compassion.' Get your priorities right! I hope you have found my speech beneficial. Thank you for listening.
