Little Jimmy sat watching the news, because he had nowhere to go and nothing to do.

Eyes wide, Little Jimmy stared at the screen as it talked about the United Nations, the ultimate peacekeeping team.

A little after eight Jimmy’s mother shut off the TV. “It’s time for bed,” she explained, ignoring his pleas.

“Oh momma, I need to know more about the UN!” Little Jimmy implored. “I suppose I could tell you,” she said with a sigh. “You’re a big boy now, you can stay up till nine.”

“How was the United Nations created?” Little Jimmy asked. “I should know, I work for the UN. It’s my task.”

“It all began in 1942, when President Roosevelt coined the name “United Nations”, which would down in fame. This was during WWII, when there was a lot of fright. His spoke at the Declaration of United Nations, a pledge of 26 nations to continue their fight.”

“In following years, the a lot of effort was put into creating the United Nations. Meeting after meeting, each member worked in completing the organization so it fit all of their needs. The Yalta conference was particularly well-known for it’s role in being a major step towards each member’s final goal.”

“Once the United Nations was established, there different parts were created to form its whole. These are the main organs the UN controls...”
