Clark,
We have a thousand more adventures to take. In the meantime, here are some of my favorites.
Dad
The world is an ocean,
and can lead you astray.
Mom and Dad need a skipper,
to show them the way.
Since nobody knows just what X might mark,
they come for the best, and that’s me:
Captain Clark
To make a voyage special and take a great trip,
you also need a great vessel.
Mine's called The Donship.
To help manage the ship, and navigate too,
I enlist Mom and Dad to be part of my crew.
We may sail North to the poles, or south to Miami.
But first, where's my first mate?
Get me out of these jammies!
While Mom raises the sails and Dad battons each hatch,
The Donship is shining. There isn’t a scratch.
All my bottles are packed.
Mom and Dad say we’re ready.
We pull out of port,
while Dad keeps the wheel steady.
First we sail into Kinder. We can’t spend all day.
I want to visit my friends, but they know I can’t stay.
We listen to music and nap, and eat lunch and it's yummy.
I paint pictures and play, and spend time on my tummy.
Then Mom and I go it alone as we start our next leg.
Mom charts us a course to the Isles of Weg.
We go to Weg all the time. That isn’t unique
But Mom and I haven’t been in almost a week!
As we scour the isles, we try to be smart.
Mom looks for great finds while I guard the cart.
We pick out our treasures so bizarre and fantastic,
And trade with the man as he wraps them in plastic.
With the cargo hold full we're done with this station.
The Donship sets off for our next destination.
Dad takes a look at the map for new things to find,
but Mom wants to unpack, so she stays behind.
As we cruise on the ocean, I hear my Dad saying,
“Clark, look down at the water, the dolphins are playing!”
I think I’d rather keep sailing, if I got to choose.
But my Dad loves to watch dolphins, though they often lose.
My Dad says it’s ok if they lose,
as long as they tried.
And I love my poor Dad,
So I sit by his side.
We steer hard to starboard and look for somewhere to settle.
Then we debark and set off for the man made of metal.
Finally, we find him with a bronze dog to match.
But we can’t wait around, there are monsters to catch.
We walk left, we walk right, scanning the shore.
We spot a few monsters, but Dad says there’s more.
