In the twilight I crawl and slither to my lodge
under the woody sticks, rocks and the sweet scent of fresh mud,
Early dawn, I wake to the sound of medowlarks.
I munch on alder birch trees, and tender saplings.
I cut down trees with my razor sharp teeth. I use my flat scaly tail to slap the water.
The owl is the wisest of my predators
The water is my refuge!

I had fun learning picture writing because it was a gentle progression of Beth's expertise. My first experience was with the painting of my choice of background scenery. I had so much fun. The music set the tone remembering my own personal experience through art.
Secondly, I was optimistic about picture writing it was a new idea which brought positive thoughts and empowered my creativity. Having the opportunity for many hands on experiences with modeling and explicit instruction was enlightening. Even when the paint didn't mix the way I wanted it to. I always forgave myself. Having a very peaceful working environment helped alot.
Thirdly, I liked having access ranging from very simple to complex informational picture books. Picture writing makes a unique one of a kind story. I liked that it focused on pertinent parts of children's books always with a happy ending. I gained many experiences with different textures, colors, and techniques. My painting surprised me! It revealed realistic features of the beaver. It brought life to my painting.
Finally, finding a way to bring clarity and a better understanding is by making the verbs and adjectives match every part of my setting, character, problem, and solution. I especially think those silver dallor words bring the story to life.
