Guinea pigs are great animals to love and care for. In this book you will learn how to feed, train, trust, care for and love a guinea pig. I love guinea pigs and have three of my own so I wanted to make this book.

How long do they live?

Guinea pigs live from 4-6 years of age.

A sow (mother guinea pig) can have up to 12 pups (baby guinea pigs)

What do they eat?

Guinea pigs eat a mixed variety of fruit and vegetables. Remember to cut up the fruit and vegetables besides corn because they might find it hard to bite. You can feed your guinea pig grapes. Do not feed your guinea pig iceberg lettuce otherwise they will get diarrhoea.

Breeds of guinea pigs

The breeds of guinea pigs are peruvian, abyssinian, american, teddy, skinny pig, texel, sheltie, rex, himalayan guinea pig and the cuy guinea pig.

Grooming a guinea pig

To groom a guinea pig you can buy a guinea pig brush from the local pet store. I would recommend grooming your guinea pig every day if it is a peruvian guinea pig. American guinea pigs are great for first time pet owners. When you have a brush, start from the ends of the hair up to the top to prevent it causing bigger knots in the hair.

Cavy colours

The guinea pig colours are chocolate, lilac, beige, black, slate, cream, saffron, buff, light gold, dark gold and red.
