In 1953 the French began to build forts. The govener of Virginia Colony sent his soldiers to tell them to leave. After they said no the govener sent George Washington to tell them to leave.

Expecting the war to start soon the governer called a meeting. The meeting happend in Albany New York. Benjamin Franklin said we should put a picture in the newspaper that ha a cut up snake that says join or die.
