Indo-Europeans Migrate

The Indo-Europeans were nomadic people that came from dry grasslands that were north of the Caucasus Mountains.

They traveled together in tribes, speaking similarly to the language we call Indo-European.

The language of the Indo-Europeans helped create many languages in Europe, Southwest Asia, and South Asia.

Historians are able to tell where the tribes of the Indo-Europeans lived by their language.

The Hittite Empire
Anatolia, where the Indo-European group called the Hittites lived, was a huge peninsula rich in timber and agriculture.

The Hittite empire took complete control over Southwest Asia for 450 years.

The Hittites adopted Akkadian, the Babylonian language.
