Cassidy was sitting in the living room one day with her sister Corryn, her two brothers, Cole and CJ, and her parents. She loved her family so much and her favorite thing to do was spend time with them. She thought there was only one thing that could make her family even better, a dog!

At dinner that night, as her family was finishing their meals Cassidy shouted, “I think we should get a dog!” Her siblings immediately chimed in, “Can we please get a dog mom and dad? We will take good care of it!” 

“I think we should get a dog!”

Cassidy’s parents looked at each other with unsure looks on their faces, “I don’t know kids, dogs are a lot of work.” Just then, a light bulb went off in Cassidy’s head, I know what we can do to show my parents that we can take care of a dog.

The next day Cassidy and her siblings went to volunteer at a local animal shelter. They helped walk, feed, and wash the dogs. Cassidy, Corryn, Cole, and CJ had so much fun at the animal shelter with the dogs and with each other. 

Cassidy’s parents were so proud of their children and looked at each other with big smiles on their faces. They knew that their children were loving, responsible, and very deserving of a dog.

Cassidy’s parents were looking for the perfect dog for their family when that night, her Aunt Carrol called and told them that her dog just had puppies!

She told them to come to her house the next day to see if they wanted any of them to keep. Cassidy was so excited she could barely sleep that night!

The next day, Cassidy and her family went to go see the puppies at Aunt Carrol’s house. All the puppies were cute, but there was one particular that stood out to Cassidy.
