Linsey and Lacatina are best friends, and that's why they decided to work on their social studies project together. Of course, they waited until the last minute, so on Monday afternoon they decided to hang out and work on their project together. Obviously, they had to get Starbucks before they got to work because Linsey wouldn't have it any other way.

As Linsey ordered her daily frappe, Lacatina watched the manager yell at one of the employees. She heard the door slam and watched the girl speed away in a rusty Volkswagon. That's when Lacatina remembered she needed a job. As she walked towards the manager, she glanced back at Linsey, who was caught up in deciding which cake pop to order.  Lacatina hoped Linsey wouldn't notice that she walked away. When Lacatina approached the manager, she could see a rain cloud over his head.

Um... h-h-hi, sir. My n-name is La-lacatina. I don't mean to be-rude, but I just overheard you fire that employee. Well, I-I am loo-looking for a j-job, and I was wo-wondering if you'd em-employ m-me.

Whatever. You start tomorrow.

Then, the Manager shoved an apron in her face and stormed away. Lacatina was able to sneak back into line next to Linsey un-noticed.

The next day, Lacatina was ready to work. She had her apron on, she was freshly washed, and she even managed to leave school a little early so she wouldn't be late for her first day. As soon as she got there, she went right to work, making frappichinos and warming-up breakfast sandwiches. The manager even seemed to be in a good mood. Everything was perfect until Linsey showed up for her daily frappichino. Lacatina knew Linsey would get mad if she saw her working there, so Lacatina pulled her hat on to shade her eyes, tucked her hair in, and always kept her head down. It worked perfectly...until it didn't.

Lacatina!!!??????!!!

"OMG!!!" cried Linsey. "Since when do you work here?"

"Shhhhhhhhhh!" shushed Lacatina. "You need to be quiet. Follow me." Lacatina led Linsey to the back where she was asking her millions of questions.

"When did you get this job? What times do you work? Are there any other openings? Can I work here??..."

"Linsey, I got this job yesterday, and this is my first day working. Is there anyhing else you want to know?"

That's when Linsey got her idea.

"Can you give me free drinks? Come on, I'm your best friend. I've done so much for you..."

"No Linsey, I'll get fired, and this is my only shot to get money. I can't do this, Linsey."
