Today is the first day of school and this year I'm a fourth grader. I love school especially because I get to see all my friends. Some of them are in the same class as me!

In the middle of class the principal came into my class. He asked her if she can step outside for a moment. The whole class was so confused and curious as to what was going on.

When the teacher came inside, she brought someone with her. She told us that his name was Ricardo and that he came to the U.S. from Mexico. She also said that Ricardo doesn't speak English that well so sometimes he might not understand.

The teacher had Ricardo sit in our group and i said hi. When he said hi back he asked me a question that I couldn't understand that well. I played it off and just nodded my head.

As we were about to learn math, another teacher came in and said something to the teacher. Then she took Ricardo and took him out of the room. I asked the teacher where they went and she said that Ricardo has to go with another teacher for 30 minutes because they want to teach him more English.
