This is dedicated to my curious, kind and creative students who have become great persuasive writers, themselves.

Chirp! Chirp! That is the sound of our new classroom pet.

I believe a bird would make the best classroom pet because of its calming chirps, entertainment and mobility.
The first reason a bird would make a good classroom pet is because it makes beautiful chirping sounds. This could be calming to upset students. Also, the chirps could alert us to strangers who walk into our room.

The second reason a bird would make a great addition to our classroom is because birds are highly entertaining. Birds like to climb on the ropes in their cage and may even sit on our finger. This entertainment would make students happy. It would be enjoyable during indoor recess.

The final reason a bird would make a fantastic classroom pet is because it lives in a cage. This makes our pet mobile! We can move its cage to a different spot in the room to clean or for new activities. Also, someone could easily take it home during school breaks.

There are so many different kinds of birds to choose from. Our class would have fun picking the best pick for our room! I believe a bird is the best choice of animal because of its chirping, its fun behaviors and its cage. I hope to hear chirping soon in Room 33!
