This book is dedicated to Troop 10524. May the light always lead their way!

On Friday, November 11, 2016, Sophia and I, along with her Girl Scout Troop, went to the Pumpkin Blaze! Her troop was invited to light about 1,000 pumpkins! The Great Jack 'O Lantern Blaze is a place where they have thousands of pumpkins all designed and carved differently. Some look like people, animals, characters or flowers!

First, the guides split us up into three groups of three. She showed us how to light the pumpkins. We had to lift up the pumpkin and light the little candle underneath. We had to be quick and careful because it was very windy! The guides made us tie our hair back for safety. There were a lot of dried leaves on the ground. As we were lighting the candles, we found out that not all of the pumpkins were real! Some were plastic! Emily, a troop sister said "Sophia did you know that some of these are plastic?". Sophia said "No way! They look so real!"

Next, the guide showed each group the area with the pumpkins we would be lighting. Our group had one area that looked like a covered bridge. There were 3 rows of at least 30 pumpkins! SUCCESS!

Then when we were done, we went to the pizza parlor for dinner and to get warm! Not only was it windy, but it was cold too! We waited until it got dark so we can see how the pumpkins looked when they were all lit up. We were so excited to see the work that we did!
