I would like to dedicate this book to my Literacy Volunteer class. The children have made my year so much better, and I love that I get to see and work with them. Also, I would like to dedicate this book to their very wonderful teacher, Mrs. Klein. Thank you for having me in your class.

Sage's Day Out
By: Cheyenne Reid
There once was a mother, a daughter, and a little puppy named Sage. The mother's name was Loraine, and her daughter's name was Jada. The puppy wanted to go outside, so Loraine and Jada decided to take her for a walk.

Jada decided she wanted to bring the puppy back inside because Sage was little and got cold easily. So, they went inside and sat in front of the mantled fireplace to get warm. Sage was very happy! She loved to play, but she also loved to snuggle with Jada.

Jada and Loraine wanted to take Sage out to the beach, because they wanted her to get used to the different types of weather.

Jada also wanted to take Sage for a walk, so they decided to walk the long way past the Church.

After the long walk that Sage had, Sage started to get hungry, so everyone went back home. Sage ran right into the kitchen to tell Loraine that she was hungry!
Sage couldn't find what she was looking for, so she decided that she'd just have her mom get her something to eat!

Sage heard her mother come into the room and got excited. She turned around and her mother was empty handed. "I don't know what you want to eat, Sage. I couldn't find any of your favorites."
Sage and Loraine walked into the kitchen to find Jada sitting at the table. Sage walked by and noticed Jada eating her last box of McQueen's chicken nuggets! Sage barked, wondering why Jada ate her last box. Jada said, "I'm sorry, Sage. I should've asked you first. I'll get you another box. Let's go!" So all three jumped in the car to go to McQueen's to get some chicken nuggets for Sage.

On the way to McQueen's, Sage had to go to the bathroom. Loraine pulled the car over so that Sage could go outside, and Jada could stretch her legs.

Jada and Loraine put Sage back into the car. They finally got to McQueen's and got their chicken nuggets.

Loraine decided to take Sage and Jada back home because they both got tired.
