This past semester in PE we learned about football, tennis, basketball, and soccer. We used many websites online and different methods to learn about these subjects. For football we used google slides, tennis we used wevideo, basketball we used screencastify and google slides, and for soccer we found 3 explanatory videos to explain soccer, the rules, and the how to play.

Chapter 2: football

Football is an american sport that was started on November 6, 1869. It's played all around the country with teams across many colleges and high schools, and even a national football league. Suffice to say, it's one of the most popular sports in america.

The basic rules of football: Time limit is 15 minutes with for 4 quarters. You only have 4 chances to move 10 yards down the field before it's their turn to be on the opposition. There are 11 players on the field.

The field that football is played on is measures about 120 yards long and 53.33 yards wide.

There are multiple ways you can score, such as safetys, touchdowns, or field goals. A safety is worth 2 points, touchdown is 6, and field goals are worth 3 points.

There are two teams in the game: offense and defense. Offense's goal is to score points, and defense's goal is to stop offense from moving up and scoring points.

Offense consists of 11 players, 5 linemen, and 6 backs and receivers. The linemen are essentially the front line, protecting the quarterback and running back from getting taken down. The backs are there to pass the ball forward, and the receivers are there to catch the ball and move it forward.

I personally don't have a favorite football team, but if I had to choose one it would probably be the cowboys since they're my family's favorite team.

Chapter 3: Tennis

Tennis is sport in which two players, or a team of two players vs two other players hit a ball with a racket back and forth trying to make it into the other teams side and hit the floor without the other team hitting it back. Tennis' first game was played in 1859 in France.

The very basic rules of tennis are one or two players on each side of the net with a racket and they have to hit the ball to not let it hit the floor on their side. The court that it's played on is 78 feet long, and 27 feet wide for singles. When it's played with two players its 36 feet wide.

There are multiple types of swings one can do in tennis to hit it to the other side. The first one is called backhand, and it's where you swing with your backhand facing the opponent with the racket around hip/stomach height, next is forehand which is the same as a backhand except you swing with your palm facing the opponent. The last is an overhead serve, which is where you throw the ball in the air and swing over your the height of your head, and it's the first hit of a match.

Scoring in tennis is generally pretty simple. The matches start at love, which means the score is at zero. The height you can go up is 40, but in reality that's just 4 points. It goes up from 0,15,30, and then 40, so you have to make it hit the other side 4 times in order to win the game.
