John D. Rockefeller was an amazing innovator and became the richest man in the world at the time by creating The Standard Oil Company.

John D. Rockefeller was born July 8, 1839, in Richford, New York.

When Rockefeller turned 14 he and his family move to Cleveland, Ohio.

Rockefeller not being afraid of work had several jobs over a few years, finally got his first real office job as an assistant bookkeeper at 16.

At 20, Rockefeller, with his business partner, made their own business, that being, commission merchants.

At the end of the first year of the business Rockefeller and is partner brought in over $450,000.

Rockefeller never really took any risks with his business but he saw an opportunity in the oil business.

Rockefeller built his first refinery in 1863 and within it's first two years it became the biggest in the area, and making a lot of Capital.

Soon after the huge success in the oil business Rockefeller knew it was time to take it on full time.

Part 2:
Standard Oil Co.
Rockefeller founded the Standard Oil Co. in 1870 along with his associates. The Company had immediate success.
