he told his ideas to several former companions. From this point on he became
the leader of a new religion called Buddhism. The guidelines of his teachings
were based on the four noble truths.

The Buddha died of old age at 80. The death
was triggered by his body's reaction to a dish of wild onions. He
died peacefully and mindfully. Even thought the Buddha died,
Buddhism continued to attract followers.

gathered after his death. They wanted to make sure his teachings
were remembered correctly.
