The Asthenosphere is the upper layer of the Earth, after the lithosphere. It has a lot of pressure that its rocks can flow.


is for Boundaries
Boundaries are where plates move apart from each other. They don't like each other so some pull apart, some slam against each other, and some slide awayyy from each other.


is for Continental Plates

Continental Plates are the BIG plates that roam on the surface of the Earth and move separately.

is for Divergent Boundary

Divergent Boundaries are places where 2 Continental plates move awayyyyy from each other.

is for Earthquakes

An earthquake is the QUAKING of the Earth's surface. It is caused by the BIG plates moving. It can be very violent and destroy cities.

is for Fossils

Fossils are the bones left behind by animals that lived a longggg time ago. Fossils were used to prove that the BIG plates in the Earth exist.

Geology is the study of Earth's magnificent, rocky, broken, and historical surface.

is for Hot Spot

A Hot Spot is a place inside the mantle where rocks become liquid and magically turn into magma.

is for Inner Core

The inner core is the final layer of the Earth, and it is veryyyy hot. It is made of metal and it is solid. It is made of metals like iron and nickel which coins are made of!

is for Juan de Fuca Plate

The Juan de Fuca Plate is one of the very BIG plates that is going below another plate. It creates volcanoes and even earthquakes!

is for StriKe-Slip Fault

A strike-slip fault are vertical cracks where rocks have moved horizontally. The Earth surface got hurt :(

is for Lithosphere

The lithosphere is the covering of our Earth and is made up of super rocky plates (not the ones we eat food on :D)

is for Mountain Ranges

Mountain ranges it is a whole line of mountains that are connected. They are very high and include valleys and mountain passes. The tectonic plates cause this beautiful mountains.

NASA is the agency that is in charge of discovering more things about space. They send spaceship and many studies from NASA say the BIG plates exist.

is for Oceanic Plates

An Oceanic Plate is a plate at the deep blue bottom of the many oceans of Earth.

Pangaea was the super-continent that existed about 300 million years ago! Woah! And it was HUGEEEE!
