Jefferson

Burr

In the election of 1800, Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr were running against each other. They both got 73 votes so Hamilton voted for Jefferson at the last moment. Burr was very mad.

Burr challenged Hamilton to a duel on July 11, 1804. People who said no to a duel would be called a coward so Hamilton did accept. They had Wogdon guns. They both fired. Hamilton's shot hit a bush or a tree. Burr's shot hit Hamilton. Hamilton died the next day.
