The Adventures of
Genevieve and Pickles
by Cameron
Now let's meet our character, Genevieve. Genevieve is a plump, silly, imaginative young girl at the age of 17. She can't swim, she loves Froot Loops, blue moon ice cream, and shrimp (as pets, not food silly). She is often attracted to things most people find ugly such as ruffles, hairless cats, aliens, obnoxiously bright colors, and mom jeans. You'll often find Genevieve at the hair salon chatting and making her hair big and beautiful.
One day as Genevieve walked outside of the house to get the mail, her landlord approached her, and asked "Gen-a whatever you're called"
"Yes, landlord?" she replied.
"Your rent is due, and it will be paid by the end of the month."
"Am I clear?" he looked at Genevieve with a stare.
"Why, yes landlord," Genevieve answered.
"Cheerio, darling!" Genevieve said.
"Alright then," he said.
"Oh dear," Genevieve thought to herself, "I've only got $67.00 dollars in my balance. How shall I ever pay that rent?" she said aloud.
Conveniently, she saw an ad for a pet contest. The award for first place was $100,000 dollars. Genevieve had no pet, but with her little money, she thought she could buy one. Genevieve drove over to the nearest sketchy, grubby apartment complex, and bought herself a hairless cat. She fell in love with him and decided to call him Pickles after his scraggly, wrinkly, bumpy skin.
Genevieve loved Pickles, and Pickles hated her. "What can I do, for him to love me?" she wailed. After a cup of Froot Loops and milk, Pickles warmed right up to her.
Suprisingly Pickles can talk! And he did! He agreed with the plan to get the money after more coaxing with Froot Loops, of course.
Genevieve immediately started to train him. She took him to Madam Gloria's hair salon and had him bathed. Pickles enjoyed the attention. Pickles worked hard. He wanted Genevieve to win!
Genevieve was very motivated to win the contest. She was anticipating, money, fame, glory, and the right to boast of her awards. She also loved to style things; so dressing up Pickles in frilly clothing was not just hard work, it was exactly what Genevieve wanted.
After long, hard, working days of training, filing nails, dress fittings, and many boxes of Froot Loops they were ready. The time had come! Pickles and Genevieve ventured out to the event center where the pageant was to take place.
The man at the registration center laughed when Genevieve checked Pickles in. "Clearly, you don't understand this pageant is for the classiest pets in all of America," the man sneered. "Are you quite sure about entering?" he asked.
"Of course! You don't understand the potential Pickles has," Genevieve said in defense. Then with a whip of hair and tail they sashayed away.
