Once upon a time, a little girl named Carmen lived in San Miguel, Guatemala.

She lived in a big, orange, and beautiful house.

Carmen was pretty, short, and slim.

She was also curious, nice, and smart.

Carmen, I love you so much. Take care please!

Mom, you are an angel. I love you too!

Carmen's mother, Isabel, was caring and nice. Ms. Isabel used to advice Carmen not to talk to strangers or to go to unknown places by herself. However, Carmen was curious and she loved to explore new places.

One day, while Carmen was walking back home from school, she decided to get deeper into the forest and look for beautiful flowers. That day she forgot her mother's advice of not going to unknown places by herself.

Oh! Those trees are so beautiful!

Carmen got into the middle of the forest but she couldn't find any flowers in there.

Once in the forest, she heard a sound behind the bushes. Oh no! Carmen was happily surprised by her findings. There were a female dog and her four cute puppies. Carmen asked the puppies: "How did you get in the forest? "

But the puppies were not able to answer her questions. Well, no matter what the answers were, Carmen was happy for finding such a cute company in the forest.

Those Puppies are beautiful like roses!

It was getting late in the forest and Carmen realized that it was time to go back home before darkness falls.

So, followed by the puppies and their mom, Carmen started walking back home.

The dog family liked Carmen. The puppies wanted to live with her. Carmen liked the puppies too. Carmen would not leave the puppies behind in the forest. It was a lucky day for everybody. Now Carmen had her own pets and the dog family had their own human.

Unfortunately, not everything was perfect in this story. After a few minutes walking in the forest, it darkness fell. It was so dark that Carmen was not able to find the trail to go home. Soon Carmen realized that she was lost and she was not prepared for that.

She and the dogs walked in different directions looking for the way out, but they couldn't find it. Finally, Carmen accepted that she and her dogs will have to spend the night in the forest. She was terrified!

I'm so scared!

Carmen and her dogs were very hungry. Their stomachs were growling. "ROWR, RUM, BRUM, PLORCH!"

We have to find something to eat." Carmen said to her dogs.

"How can we find food in the darkness?" mama dog asked Carmen.

As soon as mama dog finished talking, many fireflies approached them. "Follow us, we know where to find food" the fireflies said.

Soon, they found many apple and banana trees. They were filled with delicious and sweet fruits. Everybody ate until their stomachs were full.

That night they slept like angels.

These apples are so good!

They are sweet, red, and bigs.
