Introduction
Welcome to this book about quadrilaterals. Here we will talk about rhombuses, rectangles, squares, trapezoids, parallelograms, kites, and isosceles Trapezoids and how and why they're important.

Here you see some quadrilaterals
What are they?
Quadrilaterals are shapes with 4 sides like the ones in the introduction. Different quadrilaterals have different attributes or characteristics so when I say that a square can be a rectangle but a rectangle can't be a square it'll make sense later.

Squares and rectangles
So you know how I said that a square could be a rectangle but a rectangle can't be a square? Well technically that is true. You see the characteristics of a square fit the characteristics of a rectangle, however the characteristics of a rectangle don't fit because it doesn't have 4 congruent (equal) sides!
