
Abby is a young girl who has a golden retriever named Finn. She loves Finn because he is the first dog she has ever had. Abby enjoys petting Finn everyday when she comes home from school.





Abby loves taking Finn on walks in the park. She also plays games with him, like playing fetch with him.






One day, Finn does not eagerly great Abby when she comes home. Abby becomes sad that Finn seems uninterested in her.
Finn also does not run anymore when Abby throws the ball. Abby begins to worry that there is something wrong with Finn.









Abby and her mom decide to take Finn to the vet. The veterinarian tells them that Finn is very sick. He also says that they should give him lots of love, but he will not be around much longer.





Abby's mom tells her to spend time with Finn while she can.



Finn eventually dies peacefully in his sleep. Abby is very sad that she has lost him. Abby's mother gives her some advice.

Dealing with the death of Finn is a process. It will take time to feel normal again, and that is okay.




Abby begins to deal with the loss of Finn because she was so close to him.




At first, Abby denies that Finn is gone.
No, Finn could not have died. He is just sleeping and he will wake up soon!




Then, Abby accepts that Finn is gone, but is very upset at Finn.
