It was another normal day in school,

The wind shook the trees, which caused the temperature to get cool.

Inside all of the classrooms, the students were hard at work.

All except Dillon of course, who was being a jerk.

To George he said, “Ha ha ha! You’re so dumb! You can’t understand math or science!”

George’s face looked saddened, but he replied with defiance,

“Yes, those aren’t my favorite subjects, but I always try my best.

I would really appreciate it if you gave it a rest.”

But the bully did not back down,

He continued to laugh at George’s growing frown.

“You’re brain must be the size of a pea.

I bet you’re sad that you’ll never be as smart as me.”

As George was about to reply,

Their teacher looked at them with an irritated eye.

“Everyone, please, turn your attention up here,

There’s something important I want all of you to hear.”

“Today we are going to be working on a project,

It requires you to be creative and use logic.”

Dillon laughed, “Yes! This sounds so easy.”

George shuddered, he started feeling queasy.

See, while Dillon could solve any math problem in his sleep at night,

George was a person who prefered instead to write.

He was not as good as everyone else at science and math,

His talents and passions lead him down a more creative path.

“Everyone please stop talking!” The teacher shouted over the class, her voice sounding muddy,

“For this project, I want everyone to work with a buddy!”

Quickly the students got into twos,

All of them leaving out George and shouting, “Ha ha! You lose!”

Being all alone, George looked around in dismay,

When behind him, he heard someone say,

“I know we don’t get along, but I’m in need of a partner too.”

George turned around to face Dillon, what was he going to do?
