WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE'S BIOGRAPHY

William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1564. In 1582 he married Anne Hathaway, a 26-year-old lady, and had three kids. In 1956 their son Hamnet died, of unknown cause. From 1594 until 1613 Shakespeare became managing partner of Lord Chamberlain’s Men Company of theatrical plays.

Between 1590 and 1613 he wrote a total of 37 plays. The theme of his first plays had to do with results of weak or corrupt rulers. From 1600

onward, Shakespeare wrote his magnificent tragedies, such as “Othello”, “King Lear”, “Macbeth”. These tragedies present universal truths about human temperament. In 1595 he wrote his famous comedy “A midsummer night’s dream”, while in 1599 he built his own open theater, named Globe Theatre. Shakespeare died in in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1616.
