Frankie loved his school. He spent most of his time with his best friends Ted and Alex. Frankie’s friends accepted him for who he was. He was a happy kid for all of elementary school.

Things soon started to go downhill for Frankie. After he finished elementary, he was told he would be going to a different school than Ted and Alex because Ted and Alex were going to a private school that Frankie’s parents couldn’t afford.

You have to switch schools.
Frankie kept a positive attitude though. Although he was very shy, he was sure someone would want to be his friend at his new school. He was so confident and couldn’t wait for the first day of school.

The day had finally come. Frankie’s mom dropped him off and he bravely walked through the front door.

Here we go.
Frankie quickly noticed something. Everyone here already knew each other! “They must have gone to the same elementary school,” he thought to himself. He felt his stomach turn. Frankie wished Ted and Alex were there.

Frankie looked at his schedule and went to his first class. He had math first period. He took his seat and looked around quietly. Everyone talked to each other, but no one talked to him. Frankie waited for class to start.

At lunch, Chase told Frankie to sit by him. Frankie was happy. He smiled at the thought of how easy he was making friends. He walked over to his new so-called-friends. The moment he sat down, Chase flipped Frankie’s tray of food. He began to laugh. “Haha, Frankie is a chubby nerd,” Chase said to his friends. Frankie ran away crying.

“Hello, class. My name is Ms. Dread,” said the teacher. She smiled in a fake way, and the class got quiet. “We have someone new in class today,” she said as she stared at Frankie. The rest of the class stared back at Frankie. “Frankie, would you like to introduce yourself to the class?” she asked. Frankie shook his head no and the class looked away from him unfazed.
