TO THE BEST TEACHER: LOURDES

The story begins with the memories of the Aviator, a character from whose point of view the action is narrated. This is a character who since childhood has felt that does not fit with the formal and pragmatic world that adults have created. His views are different: where he saw an elephant inside a snake, others saw a hat.

As an adult, the Aviator prefers to take long flights by plane rather than the company of his contemporaries. During one of these flights, his plane suffers a flaw and he is forced to descend into the Sahara desert, where he meets the Little Prince.
As soon as he becomes friends with the Aviator, he asks him to paint a lamb for him. The Aviator draws the elephant inside the snake of his childhood, who insists that he make the drawing of a lamb. After some vain attempts, the Aviator draws a box with holes, indicating to the Little Prince that the lamb is inside. The Little Prince approves the drawing and stays with it.
During the time it takes the Aviator to repair his plane, he receives visits from the Little Prince.
The planet of the Little Prince is identified by the Aviator as the asteroid. He specifies that this information is aimed at the elderly, who understand things from the figures. With the mention to the number of the asteroid.
The Little Prince tells the Aviator that baobabs grow on his planet, a tree that reaches enormous proportions on Earth, but on the Little Prince's planet they are mere shrubs. The Little Prince thus reveals why he needs the lamb: so that the leaves of the baobabs are eaten and they do not end with their planet.
The Aviator recalls other aspects of the Little Prince's personality, including his loneliness, his melancholy and his taste for sunsets, especially when he feels sad.

The Little Prince expresses his concern about what the lambs eat. Above all, you want to know if in addition to bushes, you can eat flowers. The Aviator responds with annoyance to these questions, since he is busy with the task of repairing his plane. The Little Prince then reproaches him for being like the elderly, for his lack of interest in the fate of the flowers and his relationship with the lambs. The Prince's anger culminates in tears.
The Little Prince tells the Aviator that there was a very special flower on his planet, very beautiful but at the same time vain and proud. The flower awakens the ingenuous love of the Little Prince, but at the same time, it confuses him. The Little Prince's love for the flower is filled with doubts.
The Little Prince decides to leave his planet, and decides to take advantage of the flight of a flock of birds to leave his world. While he reproaches the Little Prince for being as foolish as her. The flower hurries the Little Prince to leave without being seen to cry.
The Little Prince starts a journey through other asteroids. The first he visits is inhabited by a king, who appears to hold a great power but at the same time evidence that he has no subjects to exercise it. He asks the Little Prince to stay with him, but the Little Prince decides to continue his journey.
The second planet visited by the Little Prince was inhabited by a vain one. The Little Prince, before leaving him, asks him what is the use of admiring him, without getting an answer.
The next planet visited by the Little Prince was inhabited by a drinker, a drunkard who drinks to forget that he is ashamed to drink, which leaves the Little Prince perplexed.
