Once upon a time there was a triangle named Billy. Billy was different. Billy was a 30°- 60°- 90° triangle. His mom thought he was smart and his dad said he was strong but he never felt like he added up.  

Billy went to school every day. He was surrounded by 45-45-90 degree triangles. They made fun of him and even broke his hypotenuse.

That day Billy visited the doctor.

I'll fix you up! I'll mend your sides! We will take a side and then another and add them up to find the other. Square them both and your hypotenuse will feel better soon!

The next day he returned to school. Mended up and feeling cool! Ms. Oval sat him down and gave him a special crown.
