Hospitalization can be stressful on your child as well as the entire family. With this book, children can have fun actively working through the pages while helping your child understand and cope with the hospitalization  Within the book you will find information about specific experiences such as having an X-ray, CT Scan, or MRI, as well as opportunities to express their feelings. . The following are some suggestions that have been useful for children and families that have experienced previous hospitalizations. We hope they are helpful to your family as well.

Play as often as possible either in the Playroom or in your child’s hospital room. 

Encourage your child to maintain connections to other siblings at home and friends at school. 

Encourage your child to ask questions and clear up any misconceptions s/he may have. 

Utilize Child Life Specialists, whom educate and support you and your child.
