This is a book to my 4th period social studies teacher who is making everyone do this. :(

There were many sieges of Constantinople during the history of the Byzantine Empire. Two of them resulted in the capture of Constantinople from Byzantine rule: in 1204 by the Fourth Crusade, and in 1453 by the Ottoman Empire under Mohamed II.
What was the Sieges of Constantinople?

Your under attack!
The first full-scale Ottoman Siege of Constantinople took place in 1422 as a result of the Byzantine Emperor Manuel II's attempts to interfere in the succession of Ottoman Sultans, after the death of Mohamed I in 1421. This policy of the Byzantines was often used successfully in weakening their neighbors. When Murad II emerged as the winning successor to his father, he marched into Byzantine territory. The Turks had acquired their own cannon for the first time by the siege of 1422, "falcons", which were short but wide cannon. The two sides were evenly matched technologically, and the Turks had to build barricades in order to receive the stones of the bombards. The Byzantine defenders won the battle. Contemporary Byzantine tradition ascribed the deliverance of Constantinople to a miraculous intervention by the Theotokos.

The Arabs attempted a second decisive attack on the city, (after the first one). An 80,000 strong army led by Maslama. The Second Arab siege of Constantinople (717-718), was a combined land and sea effort by the Arabs to take the capital city of the Byzantine Empire, Constantinople. The Arab ground forces, led by Maslama, were defeated by Constantinople's impregnable walls and Bulgarian attacks while their naval fleet was defeated by Greek Fire and the remnants of it subsequently sunk in a storm on its return home.
