To my mom who makes everything possible.

Once in a peninsula called Toodly Doo there lived a mouse named Mike. Mike lived in a cozy old milk carton with a beautiful view of the surrounding forest. Mike loved looking out his window at the lovely trees and watching the birds that lived happily among them. He was happy. He never wanted to leave this wonderful place.
About 72 feet away from Mike's carton house, there lived a wise old owl named William Hoot Owl. William lived in a creaky old plane crash with a fallen tree laying over the top. It was a nice house that had many instruments and smelled of old metal and grease. William had lived there many years and was very well adjusted to the creaks and smells of his home.

There was also Nicholas the rabbit, Quick Nick as his friends called him. He lived in a dark, cool, sandy burrow beneath an old Oak tree. Quick Nick liked quiet, lonely type places so the burrow was the perfect home for him.

Not to far from the rest lived cranky old Tim the turtle. He lived in an abandoned old ore ship that was left near shore. Old Tim liked his home, it was near water and he could watch the sunset almost every evening. Tim was so cranky that most animals in Toodly Doo avoided him at all cost! Except for Mike, Mike could see past his grumbles and grumpy faces.
Every day to the animals seemed normal, but one morning was different. That morning left a permanent scar in their memory. It was the day the beavers came. There were so many that no one could believe their eyes! The beavers came marching in one by one like big-toothed soldiers. Then the destruction began.

They chewed and chewed. Then they chewed some more! Those beavers were like chewing machines! Everyone was in shock, they could only stand and watch in horror. Those beavers showed no mercy, they even chewed Mike's favorite apple tree. Terrified, Mike watched as his tree crashed to the ground. After hours of chewing, almost every tree had been destroyed. Finally, the beavers went home.

That night wind blew. It blew so hard that it blew over everything in its path. You see, there was no trees to stop the roaring wind. The vicious wind blew without mercy. It blew things all over Toodly Doo. One of those things that was blown about was Mike's house.

After Mike's house blew away, he was left in the dirt by where his apple tree used to stand. When he woke up he saw apples everywhere.
