Dedicated to Dr. G for being a great teacher and inspiring many students to pursue their passions in the field of Education.

There was once a little girl named Maya who lived in the big city of London, England. Maya's favorite thing to do in the world was to go feed the Turtle Doves at her local park with her dad.

One day, when the weather was very cold, Maya and her dad went to their local park. Maya was so excited to feed the Turtle Doves, but when they arrived, there were no Doves to be seen.

Maya was so upset about the Turtle Doves, so when they got home from the Park, her father made a nice fire and sat down with Maya to talk. Maya's father explained that when the weather gets cold, the Doves have to fly south so that they can find food. Maya's father assured her that the doves would be back soon.

When Maya found out that the Turtle Doves would be back soon, she was so happy. She was also glad to know that the Doves would still be able to get food during the cold months of winter, even if that meant she couldn't see them.

Migration is cool!
The next day at school, Maya asked her teacher if she could tell her class about the cool new thing her dad taught her called Migration. Her teacher was delighted and said yes.

Her class thought Migration was so interesting and was just as excited about it as Maya. The class rushed to the window to notice that all of the doves were gone.

Maya's teacher was so happy to see her class so interested in a topic. Maya felt joyous knowing that she taught her class something. For the rest of the winter, the class kept a tally of how many days it had been since they had seen Doves. Until one day...

Maya looked out the window during class and saw a Turtle Dove perched on the top of a tree. She screamed out, "Look! A Dove!" and her whole class ran to the window. They were so excited to see the Dove, and Maya's teacher was so glad the children had learned about Migration in such a hands-on way.
