Chapter 1: Where do stem cells come from?
It's a girl!
Every time a baby is born into the world, it brings with it some very important cells.
these cells are called "Stem Cells".
the splace that most stem cells are found is in the umbilical chord of new born babies. They can also be found in things like bone marrow and free flowing blood. However, still the most prevalent source of these cells is through babies.
It's becoming more and more common for parents to save their children's stem cells at birth, to use them later in their lives.
Use them for what you ask?
Well lets get into it!
Stem cells in essence are like a baby cell.
They are non-specialized and can be used for practically anything from simple blood disorders to cancers.
Chapter 2: The history of stem cells
First discovered by Dr's Till and McCulloch in the early 60's, they used hematpoietic stem cells (stem cells that turn into blood cells) for all kinds of new and world changing treatments. But only on rats.

Starting in the 1980's the first stem cell treatments were used in human medical practices and not just with lab rats.
Many countries object to the use of Stem cells because of their own ethics. More scientifically advanced countries are more tolerant or even encouraging of the use of these special cells.

Chapter 3: What other areas of science does this affect?
Stem cells can be used to fix diseases and problems that are genetic and are passed down from parents, or from malformed DNA.
Fun Fact!
Even plant shave stem cells!
They can be made into any kind of cell the plant needs, just like in people!
