George Washington

5 - He and his French allies cut off the British at Yorktown to win the war.



John Adams

1 - He helped to negotiate the Treaty of Paris 1783 in France.
2 - He served as the first Vice President and the second President.
3 - Despite his criticism of the British taxation and occupation, he represented the soldiers that fired at the Boston Massacre in a fair trial.
4 - He was the first US ambassador to Britain from 1785 to 1788.
5 - He went to Paris in 1778 to get aid for the colonists' cause.


Thomas Jefferson



1 - Jefferson was the main author of the Declaration of Independence.
2 - He served as third President of the United States from 1801 to 1809.
3 - Alongside James Madison, he helped establish the Democratic-Republican party.
4 - He served as the United States' first Secretary of State.
5 - As President, he made the Louisiana Purchase of territory from the French.

John Marshall


1 - Marshall served as the US Secretary of State under John Adams.
2 - He served in the Continental Army during the Revolution, and was one of the soldiers at Valley Forge.
3 - He was a delegate at the Virginia convention to ratify the Constitution.
4 - He served in the Virginia House of Delegates.
5 - He was the fourth US Chief Justice.
