Dear Diary,
My name is Joycelin Alise Bennett, but my friends call me Joyce for short. I live a dutiful life as the spouse of the nobleman Lord Henry William Bennett. Life as a "blue blood" is not as fabulous as everyone may think.
My husband is the head captain of the French army. While he's away, there are many responsibilities that I must live up to. I'm in charge of the land and the serfs that work on it. Because of the caste system that we call feudalism I am a higher class than that of peasants but i'm no higher than the royal family themselves.
I shoot da gun at da bad guys
After many years, our "perfect" system began to fail. First, the peasants started to trade due to access of the Silk Road. Then, the Black Plague ravaged our streets and depleted our population. After our numbers were weakened, peasants realized their worth and began to revolt.
Yep, shes dead
The system is wrong...blah blah...civil rights
On the date of October 31, 1517, Martin Luther defiantly posted the 95 Theses on the door of a catholic church. This, and the new ideas that came with the Renaissance, were important factors that led to the peasant's revolution.
WHAT DO WE DO NOW!!!
We will be your lords because we're rich and stuff
When the Roman Empire collapsed, there was chaos. To gain some control they came up with a class system. The rich owned the land and so became kings and queens and the poor worked on the land and so became peasants.
Living in a feudal society, we became used to whats known as an unlimited government. We were ruled by one king and under him was us, the nobles. The peasants were the lowest class.
Royals
Nobles
Peasants
At the end of the Middle Ages, King Henry VIII clashed with the Pope and England subsequently broke with the Catholic church of Rome and the power of the Pope. This led to the establishment of the Church of England and the Dissolution of the Monasteries. This marked the end of feudalism in England.
^!@#*$&!%$*%*@
@$%^@^&%!%#&
Since that fateful day, my family and I have lost all of our serfs and respect. Although we are rich, we are treated as if we are not the important figures that we once were.
WE'RE
LEAVING!
One day the riches, that were once abundant, will be no more. I can barely imagine the day that my family is plunged into the desolated life of the peasants. Once Royal,
