The Pituitary Gland sends chemical messengers called hormones into the bloodstream.

The Pituitary Gland and Hypothalamus are great friends and work closely together to keep us alive.

This is the Hypothalamus, she also lives in the brain and is neighbours to the Pituitary Gland.

One day, a person was walking outside and started to feel cold. The person's body temperature started to decrease.

Nerve receptors on the skin, send electrical impulses to the Hypothalamus.

The Hypothalamus quickly warns her friend Pituitary Gland.

The Pituitary Gland sends her special chemical messengers called Thyroid-Stimulating Hormones to send an important message to the Thyroid Gland.
