There is a small town on the edge of Function Forest called Lineville. Lineville has all kinds of shapes like circles, squares, rectangles, triangles and many more. Everybody is friendly and nice to each other! But, there is a group called Mixed Math. Mixed Math is made up of triangles, rectangles and all the other shapes. In order to join Mixed Math, you have to be good at math.

Mixed Math competes in math competitions all around the area. Mixed Math travels to different towns and cities to try and bring home the 1st place trophy! Mixed Math has won every year until 3 years ago. For the past three years Mixed Math has lost. Mixed Math is looking for a member... but not any member.

There is a line in Lineville named Larry Line. Larry Line lives in the forest. Larry Line stays in his house because he has no friends. Every time Larry Line goes to Lineville he gets bullied. Larry Line gets bullied because of how short he is, how he looks, how he talks and how he has no friends.

Larry Lines bullies are Sammy Square, Charles Circle, Randy Rectangle and Tommy Triangle. Larry Line is very smart at math and wants to join Mixed Math. But, there's one problem... Sammy, Tommy, Randy and Charles are in Mixed Math. Sammy and his friends will not let Larry Line join because they don't like Larry. So, Larry has a plan to get in Mixed Math.

Larry Line goes into Lineville to the Mixed Math building. When he walks in, he spots who he is looking for. "Hey, Sammy!"

Sammy, Randy, Tommy and Charles and the rest of the members are sitting in a circle doing math problems. "Well, what do you want Larry?"

"I want to challenge you Sammy. You're the smartest in Mixed Math, so I challenge you to a math-off!"

"You challenge me? Okay, what time and where at?"

"Tomorrow at 4:00. Town square."

"Fine. Can't wait to see you cry tomorrow when I beat you.
