"Picnic at Aceland Zoo"

As a second-year university student in the Bachelor of Child Studies degree program, one of my assignments this semester is to write a children's book with a message about Indigenous or Cultural Family Perspectives. This is what I came up with.

Assignment Description: Create a book or media representation about Indigenous or Cultural Family Perspectives for children ages 3 – 5 year old. This project may be developed in any voice (1st person, 3rd person). It can be a story using animal characters or people, or it can be more factual. Illustrations may be traced, created by others, photos, etc. The book will be accompanied by a four-page paper outlining how this topic affects children and how the book/ media representation will help support the child. Include three peer reviewed supporting references.
