I would like to dedicate this book to my friend, Elena Taylor, who with her help and her knowledge of Paris, helped me create this story.

Hey everybody! My name is Charlie, and this is my mom!

My mom and I are going on a trip to Paris, France, and you’re going to come with us! Together, we are going to learn all about the culture of France.

Day One:
Today we are traveling from Washington, D.C to Paris, France. Mom and I are just about to board the plane, I brought my pillows and books because we have a long eight-hour flight ahead of us.

On the plane ride, I started talking to the lady next to me. She lives in Paris, but was visiting Washington, D.C. for her first time. We shared so many stories back and forth about the places we live in, which got me so excited to get there!

After several long naps, we finally made it to Paris! I looked out the window through all the clouds and there it was, paradise!
After we landed, mom and I decided to head to our hotel to get some rest before the many big days ahead of us. We stayed at the Hotel de Crillon.

Day 2:
Today, I woke up to the sound of birds chirping through my window, and music playing on the streets. Mom told me that the performers have to audition before they are allowed to play music on the streets!

For breakfast, mom ordered us some room service. They brought me crepes. I asked mom “what are crepes?” she said “they are like a really thin pancake, everyone in France loves them!” I got mine stuffed with Nutella and strawberries and man were they delicious!

After we got dressed, mom and I decided to take a walk and explore Paris.
Everyone around me were so nice. Everyone I met greeted me with Bonjour! Which is hello in French. One lady even gave me 3 kisses on my cheeks. Mom said that’s a normal greeting here.
After visiting many of the street merchant’s mom and I jumped on the metro.
The metro was so quiet, unlike the one in Washington D.C. An older gentleman said that people in France like to keep to themselves, and if you’re loud that it is seen as being rude.
We got off the metro and right in front of me I see the Eiffel Tower, something I have always wanted to see with my two eyes.
