To Ms. Bernard, that she gives me an A

This is the Katydid.

Scientists call this insect by it's more formal name, the Tettigoniidae.
These creatures belong to the kingdom animalia, phylum ANTHROPODA, insecta class, orthoptera order, tettigoniidae family, microcentrum genus, and rhombifolium species.
Katydid's can be found on leaves or branches of trees and bushes in North America. They are mostly found in the southern part of the United States.

Look at the leaf on the left and see how many Katydids you can spot!
(Hint: Katydids look similar to Grasshoppers)

WE ARE FAMILY!
Grasshopper
Cricket
The Katydid's close relatives include both the grasshopper and the cricket, which are both part of the Arthropoda Phylum. The main difference between the three is that Katydid's have a pair wings which are used as a disguise due to the fact that they look exactly like a leaf.
