Serfs live in simple houses and farm for a living. They don't have many rights and most live in poverty. Serfs never leave their manor without their lord's approval.

Serfs were the lowest level in the feudal system, but were the most important because they were the source of food. Serfs payed their lord rent in the form of crops.

I have no food, while my lord has so much! And I'm the one who farmed it!

But Serfs were better off than peasants. Peasants didn't have a house, lived in shacks, and had to farm land with no profit. The peasants were poor and had fewer rights than Serfs.
