Homeostasis

Hi, my name is Lily and today I'm gonna teach you about homeostasis!

Welcome to my house, here I will teach you all about homeostasis. Homeostasis is maintaining steady conditions in an internal environment.

As you see here we have a fire going on to keep our house warm. Without this fire we would be freezing. Our house will now keep a balanced temperature just like homeostasis in your body.

This is my bedroom where I sleep at. When I get under the covers I get very warm, this changes the state of homeostasis.

We need to keep the state of homeostasis in us, so we stay alive.

This is my friend Vanessa, we are going to show how homeostasis works

Hi, everybody I am happy to be teaching you about homeostasis.

What Lily is saying, is when you go to play outside and get sweaty, you will change your inside body temperature.

As me and Vanessa take a walk we increase our oxygen intake making our body temperature to change.

As we catch our breath we will cool off, this is homeostasis. If we are constantly sweating, we are not healthy and could be sick.

Vanessa and I are going to take a break from our walk and catch our breath.
