''Jane Eyre'' - novel by the English writer Charlotte Bronte. Action happens somewhere in a northern part of England at the end of an era of reign of George III. Jane Eyre's parents died when she was absolutely little, and she was taken to himself by the brother of her mother Mr. Read who soon too died. The narration begins when Jane is only ten years. It is small and weak health, the impressionable child, with live character. She lives in the estate Gateshead, the belonging its aunt, Sara Read, the imperious and selfish woman whose children, Jane's cousins — John, Elisa and Georgiana. All in the house treat little Jane unfairly. Jane very much wants to deserve love of the aunt, but the aunt does not stand her.

The matter is that marriage of parents of Jane was a misalliance — her mother, having come the girl of good kin, married the poor vicar because of what all family, except her brother, Mr. Read, renounced it. More or less good relations at Jane only with the servant Bessie Li. Once the conflict reaches a critical point. John Read in blood hurts Jane the head and when he raises (замахнулся) again, she with rage (ярость) rushes on him. Mrs. Read who immediately came running on shouts did not notice Jane's wound again and punished her, having sent to the Red room where Mr. Read died. Jane begs to punish her somehow differently, but it is vain(напрасно). The girl believes that in the Red room there lives the ghost of her uncle. For Jane's fear it becomes bad, she faints. The pharmacist Mr. Lloyd called by Mrs. Read, having understood a situation, Mrs. Read recommends to send the niece to school. The choice of Mrs. Read falls on Lovudsky school

Despite public charge of a lie and disgusting character, Jane's relations with schoolgirls and teachers develop well. She is supported by the head mistress Maria Templ and Elaine Biorns, the girl is more senior than her, which strikes Jane with the knowledge, strength of mind and Christian humility. Jane studies well, she seeks to learn as it is possible bigger. But in Lovuda severe conditions of contents as Broklkherst does not care that girls are constantly hungry and freeze.With approach of spring at school there begins mass epidemic of typhus and many die. Jane appears among healthy, and Elaine, having avoided typhus, dies actually on hands at Jane of a tuberculosis with which the girl was sick long ago. conditions at school become normal. Jane spends eight years to Lovude: six years as the schoolgirl and two — as the teacher. After the head mistress of school Ms. Templ married, Jane's soul wanted changes. Therefore it submitted the announcement to the newspaper. Through time it was taken the governess for the nine-year-old girl Adele Varans in the estate Tornfield. Life in the estate very silent, besides Adele in the house there live an ordinary old woman widow Alice Feyrfaks, and several servants among whom the gloomy seamstress(швея) Grace Pool, strange, unsociable the drunkard(пьяница). Everything changes with sudden arrival of the owner of the estate, the trustee Adele, Mr. Edward Rochester. This is the person of ugly appearance and difficult temper, strong, ironic, gloomy and self-assured. Rochester often talks to Jane, and she gets used to its sharp tone and change of moods soon.

One night Jane sees smoke in a corridor — it burns the room of Mr. Rochester.She saves to his life, having woken him, and helps to put out the fire. The girl considers that this work of Grace Pool, even persuades the owner to dismiss Grace, but Rochester asks Jane to tell nobody about the incident and says that nothing similar does not happen any more. Jane understands that the owner became too dear to her. She very much struggles with this love, but it is higher than its forces. Besides Jane seems, as she is not indifferent to Mr. Rochester. At the end of the novel Jane and Mister Rochester marry. Also they lived long and happily.
