Go Out and See Something

"MARIA! EMMA! ARE YOU GUYS ALL PACKED AND READY TO GO?!" yelled Maria's mom.

Maria yelled back in reply,"YES MA'AM! I'M READY MOM!"

"OK WELL GET YOUR SISTER AND HUGO AND GO TO THE CAR. I HAVE TO WAKE YOUR DAD UP AGAIN AND THEN WE WILL LEAVE!"

Maria and Emma then packed the car up with their things and got Hugo comfortable in his crate.

"Are you girls excited?" asked Maria's mom."I know you wanted to go to Disneyland but, trust me, you would rather be where we are going than there this time of year."

"I'm excited to get there and not be in the car anymore... "replied Maria.

"MOMMYYYYY! HOW MUCH LONGER?!" Emma yelled.

Her mom replied,"Just a few more hours sweetie. Calm down. It is totally worth it!"

"HOURS?!"Emma and Maria simultaneously yelled back as they hit their head on their pillows.

12 Hours later...

"Wow! Bryce Canyons is mesmerizing! I wonder how it was formed," said Maria as she looked around the canyons some more.

"Actually, it was formed by water erosion over millions of years!" answered her dad.

"WOWWWW!" said Emma.

"AHHHH! MOMMY ITS COLD!" screamed Emma as she stepped into the water.

"But isn't it nice compared to this heat? We are in Utah in the middle of summer!" replied her mom.

"I absolutely love it! Zion National Park is so beautiful too!" said Maria

The family then looked at some of the other canyons there. Then got back in the car to go to their hotel for the night. The next day they drove nearby to Zion National Park.

" Woah! I can't believe how beautiful all of these places are! Why are you just now taking us here?!" inquired Maria.

Her father replied saying," I don't know, Maria. I guess we never thought about going until your mom mentioned it..."

On this day, the family hiked through Arches National Park (also located in Utah) and then set off for the next park on their itinerary.

The family packed up again and headed off to see some sites in Colorado. They went to see the Great Sand Dunes, The Black Canyon of the Gunnison and Mesa Verde.

"How long will we be in the car this time?" asked Emma, who did not want to be in the car anymore.

"Only about seven hours, sweetheart. Try to take a nap," replied their dad.

"I love sliding down all of these dunes and the sand is so soft! At least when its not hitting you face because of the wind..." Maria exclaimed out loud.

"Well if it weren't for the wind and mountain streams these wouldn't even be here!" Her mom said to help her understand.
