To Ms. Moore,
my World History teacher.

My name is Akbar. I was a Mughal emperor. I was one of the best rulers, so they called me Akbar the Great.

My father's name was Humayun. He was also an emperor. The people in the empire kicked him out because they didn't like the way he ruled. He ran away to a place called Persia.

Get out Humayun!!!

My mom was a Persian princess. Her name was Hamida Banu Begum. She lived longer than my dad, but died right before I died. She was buried at Humayun's Tomb, which is kind of like the Taj Mahal but red. I really loved my mom.

The Mughal Empire became good and powerful when my father came back from Persia.

While my father was out doing his emperor business, I stayed home. My uncles taught me many things. I learned to hunt, run, and fight like a warrior.

Once my father died, I took over power and ruled. I made the army very powerful by using cannons, fortifications, and elephants. A fortification is like a wall. No other empire except for the Ottomans had better weapons.

When taking over north India and the Sur Empire, I was not mean to the Hindus, although I was Muslim. After beating them, I didn't force them to be Muslim and didn't tax them. I even married a Hindu later on. I celebrated Hindu holidays.
I conquered in all directions. East, west, north, and south. Almost all of Southeast Asia was under my control. I had Punjab, Agra, Delhi, Gujrant, Bengal, and many more. These are just a few of the states.

I was a good commander because I treated my soldiers good. I came up with a good system. I chose soldiers myself. I taught my soldiers many things. There was no difference between the sword and the pen. Both were needed for battle.
