Did you know that Ruby Bridges worked as a travel agent for 15 years after she graduated from high school? She is best known for being the first African Amarican student to attend white only school. Ruby Bridges accomplished many important things that made our world a better place in which to live in.

Ruby Bridges was born on September 9, 1954 in Tylertown. She had a large family including 3 siblings. When Ruby Bridges was a child, she moved to New Orleans. In New Orleans they played softball, jump rope and climbed trees. Her family lived on a farm in Tylertown, Mississippi.

Ruby Bridges accomplished many things that made the world a better place to live. She received the Presidential Citizends Medal. She was the first African Amarican student to attend the white only school. She made a book called " through my eyes."

Ruby Bridges had a very interesting life! She got married to Malcolm Hall and had 4 boys. Ruby Bridges was also reunited as an adult with her former teacher Mrs. Henry.
