The Jumano tribe were called the Puebloan indians and
they were semi-stationary. The Jumano were farmers and
very skilled buffalo hunters. The Jumanos also traded with
the Spanish colonies. The region was very dry, but they
still grew crops. Some of the Jumano became nomads and
provided meat for the Jumano that lived near the Rio
Grande. The Jumano had the biggest trade center. This is
the basic infomation of the Jumano tribe.

The Jumano were not just farmers. Every single day
something different happens in each part of the Jumano
tribe. The ferocious hunters in the plains also known as the
Jumano's top class hunters. The hardworking farmers
supply crops to the tribe and the Spanish settlers. The
women in the tribe make jewelery and they are experts in
pottery. The farmers harvest a large variety of crops and
the hunters provide for the tribe. The women learn to
create beautiful pottery and jewelery. The traders from the
Jumano trade crops and meat for horses and many other
items to extend their trade. This is how the Jumano lived
everything.

The Jumano lived during the 1500's and
the 1700's. They lived during the period
when Spanish explorers were discovering
Mexico and Texas.

The Jumano were referred as rayado(striped), because
their faces were painted in stripes. Sometimes they were
called naked, because most of their body parts were
showing. The Jumano also wore snake skin belts. The
women had long hair tied up, skirts, and sleeveless tunics.
The men had short hair with colorful feathers. They also
wore other small garments like shoes or necklaces. They
also tattooed themselves for religious purposes. They also
wore animal hides(cloaks). This how the Jumano
might of looked like.

The Jumano either had pueblo or teepee. The Jumano
lived in large houses made from adobe bricks. Some of
the large houses could hold up to 30 to 40 people! The
adobe house were painted with black, red, white, and
yellow stripes. The Jumanos had flat roofs to keep cool
from the extreme heat in the mountains and basins
region. A small handful of the Jumano were hunters and
nomads that supplied meat to the other Jumanos. Their
tepees were made from animal hides. These descriptions
may fit how the Jumano's houses looked like.
