Melanie was a junior in high school. She had more friends that she could count on both hands, and a boyfriend, James, who loved her very much. Every day she ate lunch with her friends and gossiped about cute boys. She loved talking to her friends and didn't have a care in the world!

Melanie was talking to her friends one day, like every other. "Charles is soo dreamy," she said, eyeing one of the popular boys a few tables over.

Her friend Stephanie pursed her lips and said nothing.

Little did Melanie know, Stephanie went to James and told him all about what Melanie had said. She told him that Melanie was going to dump him for Charles, and that she was cheating on him, and many other things that were just not true.

When James went to talk to Melanie about what Stephanie had told him, she was livid.

"Who told you all those lies?" She asked.

James said, "Your friend Stephaine, she said you were flirting with Charles."

Melanie wanted to get back at Stephanie for the trouble she had caused, so she came up with a plan.
