Hello Kids! I am Li Yuan, I founded the Tang Dynasty in 618AD. Back then rights were very unfair. Men had many more rights then women.
Now let's get started. The Tang Dynsaty ruled ancient China from 618AD to 907AD (289 years)! This time period is sometimes called The Golden Age of China. For china this was a time of peace and wealth which made it "one of the most powerful nations in the world."
Many in the people in the Tang dynasty were peasant farmers. Even though the farmers provided food for the Tang Dynasty, they lived very tough and difficult lives. Also farmers had to work for the government for one month each year. They did very different jobs like served in the military, or did construction work.
Now that we are done talking about the jobs, let's talk about the women in the Tang Dynasty. In Aincent China the men and women weren't equal at all. Men had many more rights then women did; Therefore, the Tang Dynasty was a difficult time for women. Meaning they didn't even have the right to pick who they married.
Continuing on with the women in ancient China. The family was ruled by the father of the house, the wife and children had to obey him at all times. The women usually
took care of the home and raised the children. Also the women sometimes did not go to school. Women also had to be very skilled at silk weaving.
