greek speaking countries lived in the east. The byzantine empire didn't fall to the Germanic tribes like the western empire because
of many factors but the most important ones are that the eastern empire was richer and
had better military leadership.Emperor Constantine moved the capital of rome to Byzantium, then
later in his honor it was called Constantinople. The capital is located on the golden horn a place that made it very wealthy
that is why it was such a strategic location.Three of the city's main attractions are the hagia sophia a huge and important church,
the hippodrome a place where they held events and finally the great palace which served
as main residence of the Byzantine emperors.

met Justinian in 525 then we got married. I had a huge impact on women and
the empire during my time I helped create laws to aid women and children and to
end government corruption. My quote shown above is to emperor Justinian basically
warning him to be careful and be safe. Who am I ? Empress Theodora !!!!
"My opinion is that now is a poor time for flight, even though it bring safety. For any
man who has seen the light of day will also die, but one who has been an emperor cannot
endure to be a fugitive. If now you wish to go, Emperor, nothing prevents you. There is
the sea, there are the steps to the boats. But take care that after you are safe, you do not
find that you would gladly exchange that safety for death."-- Theodora
